The Snug Cove Action Plan is a key initiative within Council’s 2006 Strategic Plan.  The Plan is described in Reshaping Snug Cove: A Framework for Taking Action, adopted by Council in June, 2006.

The context for the Snug Cove Action Plan is two-fold:

• the sustainability context embodied in the Municipality’s Mission Statement; and,
    
• The vision and policy framework for Snug Cove embodied in the Snug Cove Village Plan, Bylaw 137, 2004.

The Snug Cove Action Plan focuses on three inter-related components:

• Ferry marshalling and related transportation issues;
      
• Civic facilities; and
    
• Surplus lands – allocation and cost recovery.

A working group of community volunteers has been created to address each of these components.  The groups will be co-ordinated by Michael Rosen, Planning Consultant, to ensure that the process leads to an integrated set of decisions based on close communication and liaison among the groups.
